W5r3.....I actually did it wooohooo :-)

I have been really worried about this one so much so I did W5r2 3 times !! Was just worried I would not have enough in the tank as I am an old lady (54). But as always just "trust the plan " as Laura says and she was right. I probably could have gone further as I seem to gain strength as the time goes, the hardest bit for me is always the first 5 or so minutes. Part of that may be the terrain ,but I'm not quite sure cause I even feel that way on a treadmill. Anyway I'm just so pleased to have done it !

Good luck , I was very nervous ,but it was easier than I though it would be . Just take it slowly as Laura says ...you've done the work you'll be fine !

well done , I'm the same age as you and have just graduated.....but I remember week 5 run 3 as an absolute high point - the moment that I thought I really could do it.....keep going!

Congratulations! It proves that we can develop fitness at an age when many would think it too late to try something new. I am not much younger than you (51) and graduated a month ago. I am still running and getting better and stronger, so keep going and so will you.

For me, the run you have completed was the most memorable out of the whole 9 week programme. I never thought that I would be able to run for 20 minutes and that feeling of completing it will stay with me forever, so I know how you must be feeling.

Well done you!

x

I am a week ahead and probably still on a high from the 20min run :-) Its a fantastic feeling, I really felt like I was getting somewhere and pushing yourself so far out of your comfort zone and finding you can achieve it is just the best sensation :-) Well done!

Brilliant! I can share your joy as I'm a similar vintage and have just completed the same run. I think I truly 'warm up' after 5 minutes of running, both mentally and physically if that makes sense. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with week 6.
