Downside to weight loss

Really fed up, along with running I have been dieting, not starving myself but following weight watchers. However with the additional benefits of the exercise I have been very successful losing over 2 stone in 11 weeks. However I now have a major problem that will mean no running for a few weeks & surgery. I have developed gallstones which are causing me a lot of pain, up twice last night & no way could run this morning. Rapid weight loss can be a trigger to the flaring up so really fed up & off to see a surgeon!

You poor thing, how frustrating ! Hope you get sorted soon.

I suppose there is a positive side to this in that you may have already had them but just hadn't started to get the symptoms. Now that you know that you need an op, it will be safer because you are less overweight, and more fit. And afterwards you will still be a healthier weight, and less likely to get other illnesses. I would try to look at it like that, I think.

I had this a few years ago, took ages to diagnose for me, I am sure the doctors had me down as some sort of nutcase until I got the scan, I was advised to get up and about after the op so once its done you could use the early podcasts for walking exercise when you are recovering and return to running afterwards. Best of luck with it all

Very well said Sarah. Don't get discouraged....think of this as part of the overall construction process to the new you. Best of luck with the surgery and wishing for a quick recovery!

Ouch! I feel for you, That is the worst pain ever (and I have had 3 babies)! Hope you get better soon, recovery time is quicker now with Keyhole surgery so you'll be back running before you know it ;)
