I’m delighted to say that I finished Week 9 run 3 this morning. I really wasn’t sure I’d be able to complete the program after having a hip operation in September 2023. But I took things slowly - gave myself a year to properly get my strength back and did masses of weight training and low impact stuff like spinning in between runs. Also after pulling a calf muscle in Week 3 I stopped being religious about three runs a week and just did two when I felt it was the sensible thing to do. And above all I didn’t worry about speed. I was a veritable snail but hey, I’ve done it.
I can’t thank the community enough for their support. Reading about other people and their ways of overcoming issues is really inspirational and has definitely helped me over the last few months. Thank you all!

Congratulations on completing the programme👏👏 - sounds like you listened to your body, which is absolutely the way to go! Good luck and I hope you continue to enjoy your running!🙂
Hooray! I certainly think there are a fair few of us with particular issues who even when things are going well all round find that 2 runs a week works better for us. I did most of C25K (after my looooooooong period working my way up Week 1) on an 'every other day' basis but that was putting C25K first above everything.
Yes I think that’s great advice. So far most of my runs have been on roads because it’s been simply too wet as the footpaths are a sea of mud. Also I wanted to avoid tracks with gates and stiles so I didn’t have to stop. Am really looking forward to using those tracks when (if) the weather improves.
