So I did it! ππ I am relieved, proud and exhausted! Thinking back to the first run 10 weeks ago when I struggled to run for one minute and now I'm a runner!
I was lucky to complete my last two week 9 runs at Center Parcs and oh what a difference, running in nice surroundings! I had red squirrels running alongside me which was amazing, and we set out really early so we literally had the place to ourselves. I managed to do 5.11km and quite a bit was up hill so I'm really pleased I completed it past 5km, although my time was 40 mins so I'm not quick. My lovely husband cycled with me for encouragement and we had pancakes to celebrate afterwards. π
I gave myself a couple of days off and then headed out again today for another 5k and managed to knock 5 minutes off completing it in 35 minutes, so I'm really pleased.
I haven't run in 30 years and I have found this process quite tough and there have been tears along the way, but it was so worth it. Coming on this forum has given me such support and encouragement and I couldn't have done it without that, so thank you! I'm planning on keeping up 3 runs per week and hoping to do a 10k by November. After 6 months of working from home, this has literally changed my life both mentally and physically, I'm so pleased I did it. Good luck to everyone who is either just starting or currently doing the plan, you won't regret it. xx
