Welcome DQ1. Out of the sadness of your father's death is coming a powerful resolve - to look after yourself and to improve your own health. What an amazing woman you are.
I wish you every luck with the programme - I know it works because I have done it before at a greater age than you and am back to do it again at a much greater age than you. Both times with no sports or fitness background.
Keep telling us how you are getting on and reading the reports of others as we shadow your journey.
thank you so much for the lovely welcome and kind words. I’m hoping this community helps inspire and motivate me to keep on track. Have a fantastic day!
Sorry about your father passing DQ1, however, in his memory and I am quite sure he would be very happy that you started a running training course like C25K, if you do start it take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or weeks if you want to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck and if you wish report your progress on this forum, we are all here to help you.
Welcome. I’m sorry for your loss but you have definitely made a great decision to join us shufflers. I started all this 8 years ago when I lost my Mum. It was a wake up call that in my late 50’s I needed to do something or I was looking at a very rocky future. It wasn’t easy but I guess nothing worthwhile ever is and I repeated lots of weeks and I still have easy runs and struggle runs. I’m 66 now and quite happy with my 5k shuffles 3 times a week - no marathons for me. I’ll never be fast but no matter. Trotting along in the fresh air, hearing the birds and the waves and occasional sunshine does as much for my mental health as my physical well being
