Well I’ve been here for four days and have managed one run, on a treadmill in Beijing in an ENORMOUS gym, in public, with other (very slim, very fit) people!!! I attempted W6R1 but didn’t complete it as I got very hot and bothered. I’m still proud of myself though for getting out there and doing it. (All of my runs so far have been in the privacy of my home on my treadmill). I even managed a swim afterwards!
No running now for two days as no gym at the current hotel but am itching to have another go my husband isn’t quite sure who this new woman is but is also very pleased and proud as my new level of fitness is making travelling/sightseeing/walking so much better!

Nice that you managed a run on a treadmill in one of the largest gyms in China, that would be a great experience, of course the Chinese do exercises in public before they start work in the morning to keep fit.
I notice that some gym equipment is starting to appear for free in the UK as well, I went on a free rowing machine and did a 100 strokes, there are also many stationary cycle bikes and recently the council have erected pull up/ muscle up exercise bars for really strong people.
Oh really? That’s interesting. I saw some burger bar staff outside their shop doing exercises this morning, and have seen people exercising at bus stops and in trains!!!
Attempting to do both although sightseeing is winning out!
hi Pickles
I live in China, always use a gym treadmill even if I'm not the fittest or most elegant If you're in China for some time, you might be able to get a short-term gym membership. Don't be afraid to ask. Good luck with week 6. Don't be intimated by the "fit-looking" gym users. They were just like us one day
Thanks nazz! We are here for almost five weeks, travelling to different hotels every two days or so. Started in Beijing, then on to Tianunnen (sp?)/Pingyao and today arrived in Xian. I didn’t realise C25K reached as far as here!
