hello!

untamed_parkrunner profile image

Hi - I was talking to some folks at parkrun yesterday who recommended this forum. I did my own version of C25K back in 2014 and just try to keep running for me and my health. I'm a slower runner who likes 5k and half marathons... not over interested in 10k (distance doesn't work) and prefer it off road. I work away from home, returning at the weekend so I don't get the whole club benefit.

Here to find others to chat to who plod like me :-)

Well you will find plenty of slow runners on here, tho’ perhaps not many contemplating half marathon distance yet. Although, who knows til you ask?! 😄 I’m into W9 and still nowhere near 5K, so I am certainly either a tortoise or a snail at heart. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum! A great place to chat about our running. So what is it you dislike about 10kms whereas you like HMs out of interest?

I have no idea why I like a HM so much. I guess a 5k is a usual short run for me at lunch and a 10k a longer sunday run. But a HM, 4 parkruns and a junior... particularly off road.. is like a spa day. A lot of thinking and relaxing time. Given I'm slow it's also more thinking time :-)

Welcome! There are all sorts of runners here, many of us slow plodders. You'll find good company and moral support here. :)

Welcome to the forum.

Funny.......10k is the perfect distance for me, simply because it requires no special preparation.

Welcome. I’m a huge Parkrun fan and 5K is my perfect distance. I’m working back up to 10K again. But 10K is my max distance. The thoughts of even running further than 10K fill me with dread.😀
