Oh boy did I have to remind myself to trust the process today between the blind panic checking to see if the timer had accidentally stopped during running intervals. Poor Reece got mental abuse (not enough puff for it to be verbal) during his breath coaching as I don’t think I’m ready to follow the in for 4 out for four breath pattern yet. That said it felt like a good run and each time I thought I couldn’t run anymore it was time to start walking again. The Nugget ran along valiantly…though we did have several diversions to splash in deep puddles, which is forgivable given that it’s her second favourite pastime after chasing torch lights. That said we were both quite tuckered after though she was trying her best to fight it…

Don't worry about breathing to the numbers if it feels unnatural. It's very easy to get so worried you're doing it 'right' that it puts you off the running. The main thing is for your breath to be controlled so you don't run out of puff. If you don't give into the temptation to run too fast this is easier.
What I found really helpful when I started running was to say, out loud, 'I can easily get to the end of this sentence using just one breath'. If I couldn't say it, it meant I had to slow down until I could say it
Good luck with Week 2!
I will say I am by no means sprinting or even ‘fast running’ I did however slow it down mid run to what could be arguably a stroll pace…I’m 90% certain people would think I was running on the spot rather than be in motion 😂
🍏 oh your Nugget is a sweetheart! To this day I can’t run 🏃♀️ if I count my breaths 🤣 Relax look around and chat to Nugget… enjoying the run will get you there!! Xx
Just breathe... like you do all the time... try not to overthink!
Just take it slow and steady and your way :).
Yes, don't worry about counting breaths or overthinking as folks here say. Do what feels right for you - listen to your body...
All the best and keep us posted.
