New season of running joy

Hello and well done to everyone that has been running this week! Keep going!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ It is September and for me that means new running season and new beginnings!

I was in Spain for the summer where I discovered an impromptu aquagym class! Amazing to see hundreds of people getting together every morning to excersise πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯° The session always finishes with a hug to self, a huge clap and popular singing. Community spirit at its best!

During summer, and because of extreme heat, I also swapped the 5k runs for 1k swims and this was also an exciting new challenge for me! I really loved it and I am thinking of combining the two going forward. πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

Back in the UK now, I did my first 5k of the season yesterday! Not without effort and at snail pace 🐌🐌🐌 but I managed to finish it! I had forgotten how hard it was!

In the photo, the community aquagym, me swimming 1km and one aquatic "ring a ring a roses" with family.

Look at those blues...

Well done on getting back with your 5K run. Nothing wrong with a slow and steady run! I actually usually love that type of run.

Good luck with the new season...

This is fantastic Naturesweapon ! I needed a bit of sunshine in my life this morning-grey and overcast here!!!

Congrats on that 5k…it always feels like a milestone to me! Have you thought about continuing on your journey on Bridge to 10k forum where lots of posters are running in a similar way to you? We run a weekly quest where you set your own goals and get encouragement and accountability along the way. Don’t let the name put you off-you only have to be working towards 10k if you want to! Have a browse and see what you think…. lots of us post both there and here (and on Fun Beyond 10k and Race Support too!!) so there’s no need to say goodbye to Couch!
