W5R3. Quite a shock

I was shocked to see W3 is a 20 minutes run after todays 2 x 8 minutes. I’m doing W3 on Tuesday, I’ll be thinking of you. I listen to ABBA to help me get round. I love the C25K it set me free even though it’s hard work.

I just did that 2 days ago, convinced I couldn't run for 20 mins. Very slowly, but I did it! This week goes back to runs and walks a bit, I think- so feeling a little more confident now. I am not sure if my running is too slow though. Might try Abba as well.

You’re never too slow!

It’s not a race…it’s a light jog. It’s your pace and you moved for 20 minutes, instead of sitting on the couch.

There’s plenty of us snails here…embrace your inner snail and enjoy!

I’m just doing Week 6. This is my third time doing C25k, following stents (Dec 2020), surgery (2021), then back and knee problems (2024).

Every time I’ve looked at the end of Week 5 and Week 6 and wondered if I’d manage it. Every time it was absolutely fine. I have to admit that this time round I repeated 5.1 about 4 times, but that’s a great strength of the programme, you can make it as flexible as you want.

But as Annieapple implies, you’ll feel absolutely great about it afterwards. And yes, I’m grey too, and run with ABBA.

I'll be doing W5R3 next up... and as daunting as it is, the magic of Couch to 5K will get you through it. You absolutely can do it. I'm at the top end of NHS overweight, I'm 63 and I'm doing C-5K my second time round after some wilderness years... it IS liberating isn't it! Go you- enjoy it and feel proud afterwards :)
