W5R3 I am in shock !!

I can not believe I can run for 20 mins Five weeks ago I couldn't even breath properly, I am over weight and have high blood pressure so really needed to do something for health reasons I am amazed how my blood pressure has dropped in 5 weeks ???? The only thing I've done is this plan and I've had high blood pressure for two years my doctor will be happy on Wednesday. When Laura said "Don't worry you've done all the training" I was like yeah 20 mins is different however tonight I think is the first time I really enjoyed running. This is one of the only plans I've tried that actually works :)

What a fabulous post and a fantastic achievement! It's utterly amazing what this plan leads us to and how it helps us change for the better :-) Be prepared for week 6 - it knocks the sparkle off for a lot of people because there are two more interval runs and we all expect them to be easy whereas they're still hard work, but from then on it's all running - I was a little apprehensive about that when I realised it but enjoyed it more! Well done, fantastic news on the blood pressure, stick with the program and we'll be waving at the finish line when we see you coming round the corner on W9 R3 :-D

Well done :0). Fantastic feeling isn't it. I told a passing dog walker how excited I was at running for a whole 20 mins and she was very supportive (probably desperately wanting to escape really).

My DH had fairly high blood pressure and brought his down loads by running. Good luck at the doctors on Wednesday :0)

Well done you! Happy to hear about your success on all fronts :D I was dubious about being able to complete this programme, found the first week hard going and was surprised to be so unfit that I couldn't run for one minute without gasping for breath, and when I got through that 20 mins I was elated too. Keep up the good work and enjoy that sparkle of success - you worked for it, even if the program is magic!

This programme is brilliant and will change your life. Well done. Make sure your GP knows about C25k.......many don't, which is a wicked shame, since the benefits that it can bring to their patients are immense.

Keep running, keep smiling.

That's fantastic! I'm about to start week 5 and feeling a bit apprehensive. Your post has spurred me on.

Brilliant post - well done, both on completing the run and on the improvement in the blood pressure. Running is so much better than pill popping and it's a real shame more doctors are not aware of quite how great this program is!
