W5R3 it's a mind battle

This is my second attempt at this run. I tried in December and then was ill for 2 months so started again from W3 in March. The last time I remember thinking there was something wrong with the app jumping from running max 8 mins to 20. I thought it was way too big a leap and how although the app says "you've already run for 16 mins" in my mind I was saying - yeah but not in one go, are you crazy! Anyway I wasn't looking forward to today but I'd logged onto different blogs earlier in the week and read it's in the mind etc etc. So this morning I decided I was going to do it. Run - if I'm honest more like a jog - until I'd either done 20 mins or was physically at the end of my endurance. I am amazed at what determination and mindset can achieve. Like last time the problem wasn't being out of breath, it was the pain in my calves. But I was determined and just kept going and learnt that you can run through the pain and it does ease. I am not a fit person, if I can do it anyone can, and instead of doubting the other bloggers, I'm now onboard with "it's definitely in the head", you have to believe you can do it and I did!!!!!!!

Woo boo - well done. W5R3 is such a major hurdle to overcome but once you have, you know you can and that you can do the rest of them ( at least it did for me ) as you now know you can run at least 20 mins . You might find you still have some challenging runs but you know you have it in you - good luck with the rest of the programme
