Went off track (no pun intended) but got there in the end!!

Not posted for a while as I got stuck on week 7 for ages but I just kept going out 3 times a week, every week and doing what I could! Stopped the C25k app for a few weeks as it was impacting my mindset instead focusing on distance and steady speed. Yesterday I ran 5k in 41.14 and couldn’t be happier! Next for me is to consolidate that by doing 3.5k twice a week and one 5k per week.

Thank you for the support 😊

For anyone new to C25k, I could not run for 30 seconds when I started and had to repeat some weeks two or three times before moving on! Stick at it! It’s your journey and it might not be the same as everyone else’s, but that’s okay x

You stuck at it and did it your way... what works for one does not work for all.

Obviously we do, here, encourage or runners to follow the C25K programme, but if it does not suit, then, as you have, they can choose their own route, ( pardon the pun).

The thing is... moving and enjoying, and for you that is exactly what you have done.

Terrific result on your 5K! C25K worked really well for me, but everyone is different. I'm running 5K's in about the same time - some slower, some faster. Persistence will pay off as you consolidate in the coming weeks.

Your story is important for us to hear - stick to it, repeat runs, individual journeys...

Keep us posted on your consolidation.

Love this so open and honest . Well done you . I’m so glad I restarted C25K and also that I didn’t quit at week 2.

Hiya, I can relate! I've been stuck on week 5 for a couple of weeks now, but I'm not fussed.

I've completed the programme before and eventually gave up running altogether because I kept going further, faster too quickly.

So taking it really slow this time, and allowing myself to get there at my pace.

I'm currently running and walking about 10'/5'/10', so I've not gone too far of the plan, really...

When I feel ready I'll eventually try that 20' run, I know I can do it (have completed week 5 before, but felt I needed to do the week over...and over and over).

Thanks for posting your experience, it gives me the confidence to stick to my gut and take things slow.

After all, going out three times a week doing something is the objective, I'm not in a hurry 😅

My heart goes out to all you new runners out there, this has been such an adventure so far! And it's only starting :)

That’s great that you’re listening to what is right for you. The C25k is an amazing tool and set me well on my way I just had to figure out what worked well for me when it wasn’t working but I didn’t want to give up on the progress I’d made!

You’re doing great, keep it up 😊
