I last run on the 24th June , completing all the runs in week 8. I couldn’t continue due to a swollen ankle , I did not injure myself during the run but on reflection I feel my running shoes weren’t providing enough stability and potentially over stretching could have caused the issue.
6 weeks later following an X-ray to rule out a fracture and some amazing physio i can start again.
I invested the time in going for Gait analysis to give me the additional confidence and i now have a new pair of Brookes running shoes.
Week one Run 2 completed , surprising how quickly the body loses the ability of running those continual minutes without the need to walk!
Back to the beginning - 60 second runs and grateful for the recovery walk in between

🍏👏 Well done for coming back and giving it another go!! It must have been so disappointing to be so close to the finish line but you absolutely did the right thing! I am sure your wonderful physio has given you some exercises to strengthen your body and keep you running happily. Will give you the link to our strength and flex forum to explore as well.
Great to see you back with us and, as many of us gave, begun again! Annieapple has given you the link to the Strength and flex Forum, and there may be things on the site which will support any exercises you have from your Physio;
