Hello fellow runners πββοΈ πββοΈ
Talk about a frustrating few weeks. After settling into my post graduation running 3-4 runs a week, I started with a really nasty virus that really interrupted the flow and has meant that for the last two weeks Iβve been unable to run at all π
Having had a gait analysis just over a fortnight ago, Iβd got a rather lovely new pair of running shoes π - and matching socks (go me- fashionista). As if that wasnβt bad enough- new shoes and no running, Iβd heard the founder of parkrun on the radio talking about the Contra clothing company that heβs set up. Running gear for all sizes and shapes- gender neutral colours and styles and all profits to parkrun, so Iβd checked it out and bought a new running top.
Shoes and top all ready but no way fit enough to run. Tried on Sunday but only managed 1k- with 4 stops so even more frustrating. However, today I got up and felt that I could probably have a go.
Got into the new gear (very comfy) and decided I would just try a short 2k.
And I DID IT!! Not only that but I could have carried on- but didnβt-as I didnβt want to push it. So relieved that I havenβt lost it ππ. It felt so good to be back out there. Made me realise just how lucky we are to be able to run πββοΈπββοΈ
Going on holiday to Guernsey on Saturday for a week so need to be fit for that - so looking forward to running by the sea. Happy days π
Happy running one and allπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
