Rookie Runner completes week 6!

If you told me 6 weeks ago I’d be running for 25 mins I would have thought you completely bonkers and that I’d slipped into a parallel universe. I’ve just completed week 6- the 25 minutes was a killer and the hardest for me, much harder than 20 as I hit a wall every 2.5 mins! But I did it and couldn’t be prouder. Stubbornness meant I kept going. I don’t know how I’ll do it again next week but I’m just think every run might be different. Thanks for all the support. Am I a runner yet?

You sound like a runner to me😁Small suggestion: if you're finding it really hard it might be that you're going faster than you need to. A lot of the process of learning to run is about pacing yourself. C25K is about getting to be able to run for 30 minutes, not about the distance you run in the time. Finding the right pace will make your run easier and you'll feel absolutely great at the end 😁

Of course you are a runner! I would definitely slow down a wee bit though if you are finding it hard as Yesletsgo has already mentioned. Slow and steady will always win the race 😂😂👍

Thank you both. There’s definitely no risk of me going too fast- my friends are the snails! But maybe there is something to pacing it out on longer runs and also gaining confidence that I can do it!

Snails totally rock... and they are determined and they are strong...they get where they wish to be... I know... I am a snail myself:)

You can and you will get where YOU wish to be:)

You are indeed a runner! Well done.

Yep, agree with everyone, try a slower pace and see if those walls fall away.

Do keep us posted on Week 7!

”Am I a runner yet?”

YES YOU ARE

The difference between being a runner and not is that the runner gets out and runs. Period.

Well done you! You’re an inspiration. I’m about to lace up and head out for my W1R2. Thanks for the kick in the pants.

absolutely!! That 100% makes you a runner!! Congratulations. I remember being so shocked when I saw that first 20 minuter come up on the app. I was like “what the??” Has this thing skipped a few weeks or what! I’m not ready for that!” 🤣
