So I went out this morning to do the last run of week 2 and BOOM it was absolutely horrid and I know why . I changed brand of trainers and they did not agree with me , these different brand I got have little to no drop on them unlike my brooks which have 12mm drop . I felt like I was being tipped up and then everytime I tried to run my calves killed and seized up due to the trainers being too soft and not supportive or strong enough. I managed week 1 in my old brooks easy but obviously they felt apart .
SO I’ve re ordered my usual brand which I know I CAN run in and I have decided to REPEAT Week 2 when they arrive . It makes sense .

🍏🤗 yes trainers make such a difference. Keep up some strength & flex in between which will help you achieve your running goals. We love photos of new shoes so do make us happy when they arrive 🤣
Don’t they just . I stupidly swayed from my brooks I’ve always worn I was like I need a new brand . But didn’t realise the new ones I did week 2 in were not suitable at all. I need a good mm drop for my foot needs . Hey ho . Lesson learned . Always do strength I love it and need to get back to yoga as well . Hey ho . My brooks I re ordered have now been dispatched so until they come I won’t run
I have Mizuno trainers and its like running in slippers-so comfortable. When mine need replacing I think I will stick with these after reading your post!
Sounds like a plan I was stupidly thinking my regular ones where no good as the heels went on the inside first pair that did that out of about 8 pairs of brooks I’ve owned. Also I didn’t realise I had that pair for over 2 years so I did some miles in them no wonder they fell apart and didn’t feel tight . Wish I never changed brand but that’s the thing I’m running you learn from these mistakes . I’m sticking to what I know as way back when I had my gait analysis done (when I came out of recovery from fracturing it during a run ) the run shop run by top elite knowledgeable runners they recommended brooks for me after seeing how I ran . So brooks it will always be for me .
Funnily enough my last pair were bright orange they just went on the heels (inside wear) resulting in blisters . And I had them over 2 years. Haa I hate getting new trainers dirty
Happy feet... essential... go with what you know is right for you! I once strayed momentarily... and they gave me a Tigger Bounce. I use them for walking now
