Slow pace

I've just completed week 9 run 1. Usually I run on pavements but am on holiday so completed this run on the treadmill. I hadn't been tracking my distance and knew I ran pretty slowly but was surprised that the treadmill showed my usual speed to be 7km per hour. Not sure that I'll ever be running 5k in 30 mins 🤔. Wondered if anyone else ran similar speeds or I am I just super slow??

well done BillyWilson ..I am 100% sure there are people who have the same pace as you!! Me included…if slow works for you and it means you can keep running that’s perfect is it?

Thank you for your supportive reply, I had been a bit disheartened thinking I could probably walk quicker!!

Nope I am the same my current 5k is about 48 mins! I have found that I really struggle on treadmills when I have used them on holidays. You are doing fine don’t lose heart! No two runners are the same and the same with runs.

Speed and pace come with practice ❤️

Hello! I thought, like you, that I could walk faster than I was running. But keep at it. You'll find that your speed will increase.

I finished out my fourth consolidation week after graduating with my first 5K yesterday in 48 minutes...

Well done you and please, remember that you do not have to run 5K in 30 minutes. You jst need to be able to run for 30 minutes, comfortably)..

Please , have a read of this... it may be of help to your mind set?

that’s me! After 6 years not even close to 5k in 30 mins and I’ve stopped trying. Just happy I can trot along for 30 minutes - it’s enough at 66. It took a while to get to understand this is my own journey and I’m much happier and motivated now I e made peace with my limits

I have to admit that I’m a lapsed runner but when I ran regularly I never got under 50 minutes for 5k no matter what I tried.
