Wk5 r2 completed but even though I ran all the 8 minute sections it is my slowest run yet, what am I doing wrong?

Absolutely nothing... we run at the pace that is comfortable for us... our legs, as the runs get longer, begin to find their own happy pace.

The programme is all about getting to 30 minutes of running safely and enjoyably...:)

"Fast enough to get there, slow enough to see"

You are doing just fine!

This is happening to me too, the more I get through the programme and the more running there is, my runs are getting slower overall. I just keep thinking that once I can run 30 mins without stopping I can work on increasing it a little bit. Also in the beginning at week one, my one minute runs were way faster than my longer runs are now. I have definitely had to slow down.

I think this is approach I'm going to take too 😊

It’s not about the speed 🙂 (and if it was, well you’re going faster than the person sat on the sofa!)

You’ll find your rhythm and pace, them just keep on keeping on ☺️☺️

You can and are doing this!

thanks, just feels a bit demoralising, will have to work at picking up the pace once I can run for 30 mins x

You're doing brilliantly. 👏👏👏

If you want to run faster, you will have to do a lot of slow running, even after you graduate.

You think Usian Bolt could keep up his 100m speed for 5 minutes?

No, I don't either :-)

True! my pace is 15:07 min/mi, I'm worried if I go any slower I'll go backwards 🤣 but seriously, thank you for the reply, think I was just a bit down and actually should have been happy that I completed the run.

That’s why this group is so good, always someone here cheering you on 😄 I am a tortoise, but am faster than my other half who is sat on the couch, so I don’t really care X ps he isn’t able to run, but inspired by me doing this he suggested a long walk yesterday evening on my rest day, so an added bonus 👍🏻
