My new long sleeved running tops arrived in the post yesterday which was perfect timing for my next consolidation run today. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Sadly thereโs not many picturesque areas for running near me (without having to drive anyway) so despite it being a lovely autumn day here - I donโt have any pretty photos, so Iโve included a screenshot of my stats instead.
Todayโs run was okay although I did start to tire a bit in the last 10 minutes, I think this is largely down to my route as anywhere I run involves running up some form of hill or incline which means I enviably speed up on the declines and then donโt reduce my pace enough once back on the flat - might try and come up with a slightly different route for my next run!
It was just me, Spotify and the Runkeeper app today and I set it to give me updates every 10 minutes which worked well, Iโd recommend it to any new graduates who are looking to move away from the C25K app but still want some reminder of time every now and then. โบ๏ธ Anyway consolidation run 2 completed ๐
Happy running all!! ๐

Well done Laura another great run. I too have already deleted c2k5 app and just using Spotify and strava (time/distance reminders are optional, I've turned them off for now). Your extra close to that 5k mark too, find a less uphilly run and you may get that next time! ๐ช๐ป
Thank you! ๐ itโs quite annoying because itโs basically impossible to avoid inclines near where I live, I may have to drive to a nearby lake at some point that has a flat path all the way around it which would be perfect!
Thanks Bambi! โบ๏ธ Itโs hard to avoid inclines round here but will hopefully find a flatter route after lockdown and itโs more acceptable to travel to other locations ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Thank you! ๐ Although it was one of my best runs in terms of distance it wasnโt the most comfortable run, so slow and steady is still my preference I think!!
Stick with the app for the first run or two if you fancy it, I had tech issues when I โreranโ the week 9 runs though so just went for it alone today ๐
Itโs both inspiring and reassuring to see your progress, even if it wasnโt the perfect session. I think Iโm learning to handle the mental ups and downs, but am still to confront the physical ones! ๐
Iโm still trying to figure out how anyone takes photos while running. ๐ธ ๐ฑ I can imagine how thatโd turn out if I tried. ๐ญ ๐
Great run, Laura ๐You are getting so close to the magic 5km! And with those hills, too you'll be getting stronger all the time. I hadn't even thought about what I will do now for guidance on my consolidation runs now C25K is done ๐คI will have to look into RunKeeper! Though, like StoneDragon, I'm feeling a bit bereft already at the thought of no Jo!! How are you finding it with just music and the odd reminder of where you are on a run via RunKeeper?
Thanks! Hopefully I will reach the 5k in 30 minutes at some point ๐๐ผ
I think Strava and NRC do similar things to Runkeeper so maybe check them all out and go with whichever one you prefer โบ๏ธ I know a lot of people on here also choose to run without any apps so the options are endless ๐ will be interested to see what you opt for!
I actually found it fine with just my music and the reminders, I like having the tracking app reminders as it stops me looking at the clock all the time! You can choose how frequently you want updates too.
