Hi everyone

I'm new to this forum but not new to C25K, over the past 10 years I've probably completed it 12 - 15 times, each time congratulating myself with two weeks off and some wine and cake!!😀

Earlier this year I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and decided to embark on the C25K again, I completed it about 6 weeks ago and, determined to progress beyond, I have been repeating the C25K + pod casts which have really helped push me and increase my speed and stamina.

Along with diet and running over the last 3 months I've lost 10 KGs and want to lose another 10 and get that blood glucose level down.

I kind of remember, or thought i did, that there was a NHS 5 to 10K podcast? If there is I can't find it or maybe I dreamt it? 🤷‍♂️

Hi  TheAce , I've never heard of an NHS 5k to 10K podcast, though of course that doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

There's the Bridge to 10K forum: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto10k

Over there you'll find the Magic Plan. Not app-based but worked brilliantly for me: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

Lots of other plans out there too, but as I don't do audio-coached runs and avoid plans like the plague I can't suggest any.

Thanks I'll check it out, did my first parkrun today, discovered that I've not quite been getting 5K in it was more like 4.2 in the 30mins. Need to get a distance app!

Hope you enjoyed your parkrun - there's a dedicated weekly thread over on Bridge: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

Re a distance app, I use the free version of Strava.

Welcome and congratulations on all you’ve achieved! You’ve done brilliantly.

Come over to the Bridge to 10k board linked by  Cmoi That’s got people building from 5-10k (or basically anyone who has completed c25k or similar and feels it fits best with their running). There are lots of suggestions there but I’ve never seen an NHS 5k to 10k app. By far the most popular plans used by our members are the Magic Plan and the Nike Run Club 10k app plan. Both were effective and I enjoyed them both, and they’ve both got positives and negatives. Other apps are available too- I know  CBDB is following a Runkeeper plan.

See what fits best for you, because the best plan is one you can have fun with and works with your lifestyle. Hope to see you on Bridge!
