Hi there. I’m new to the group from the Isle of Wight. I’m on W4R1, finally admitting to people that I’m doing it and not just sneaking out in the dark to run. It’s kinda ok so far although I’m always nervous of the first two runs of the week that I won’t be able to do it. W5 looks terrifying

Welcome Islerunner. Sounds like you're doing great so what's to fear!😊 Keep it slow and steady and trust the programme. Each run and each week prepares you for the next. No need to look too far ahead, you'll smash it. And keep posting on here the level of support and motivation is great, it definitely helped me
Bloody hell, everywhere is a hill on that island, no matter which way you go. You’re halfway up a hill, legs get tired so you about-turn and you’re still going uphill. To you, sir/madam, I tip my hat.
I’m just the other side of the Solent (the blue half). Look out for distress flares and send help accordingly. I’ll do the same for you.
Hey Islerunner.
I'm at exactly same point as you in the programme. I'm giving myself extra credit... because who starts running when it's cold, dark, wet and snowy??
Well done you for doing it too!

That’s cool. I’m doing W4R2 tomorrow morning.
Your’re quite right! Who chooses this time of year! I did because I was diagnosed with Type 2 in December, which kicked my ass into losing 2st before Christmas now approaching 2. 5 and decided on this programme as Stage 2 of my fight back! Funnily enough just after my very 1st Run I had my first 3month review and found I was in remission! Just driving me harder though to put right several years of doing wrong!
That's amazing . Well done.
I attempted ANOTHER try at c25k at exactly same time last year, and by week three the Dr was urging me to rest due to lung issues.
So much for excersize making you healthier.
Fingers crossed this year is as positive as your story.
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
None of the weeks are terrifying.........if you find that follow the link in the guide to the post about mental approach.
Relax and enjoy the journey.
I’m chugging along across the water in Lymington. I’ll think of you in Cowes, one of our favourite spots to visit. I’d have a run at Lepe where I could see you but - rather stoney along that frontage! Enjoy the programme; it really works! 🐌 🏃🏼♀️
My family are in Southampton! I’m now in Harlow Essex, but know all the areas you all talking about!
Congrats on making it to Week 4. We all deserve extra points for starting out at this time of the year. How dark and cold is it? Are we crazy? Hahaha.
Good luck with your next run
