Hi all
I’ve started C25K but feeling some anxiety about the fact my heart rate remains raised for most of the day afterwards. I guess this is just being unfit, but seeking reassurance. Thank you!
Hi all

Well done for starting!
How are you measuring your heart rate?
And yes, entirely normal behaviour if you're coming from the proverbial couch.
Totally normal! My heart rate can be elevated all day if I’ve done a hard run 👍🏽
🍏 Welcome to the forum Jim and congratulations on getting into your first week. The more unfit we are the longer our heart rates takes to recover when we begin to exercise. However at this stage of the program ( & in fact all the way through) you should be running really slowly at a conversational pace and breathing easy. This will aid recovery time. If in any doubt please don’t be anxious but pop into the GP for a check up. Let us know how you get on!

Welcome and well done you for getting started here on this great plan! Have you had any other issues previously or not.
As AA says, if you are concerned at all, go and get just a check up at your GP surgery.
It is a new routine and your body may wonder what the heck is going on, and once you realised your HR was slightly raised? Well, that makes you anxious and of course. increases your heart rate..
Slow and steady is the mantra... and do take a peek at the Strength and flex Froom too, where there re lots of ideas to support your running, especially, when you begin!
If you are feeling unfit, that could be really helpful
E.g.
hi Jim, I’m on week 5 run 2 , and I couldn’t run to save myself when I started but I’m keeping up with the program, and last week run 4 I got a notification that my resting heart rate is down , so keep it up it does work x
Most if the day sounds a lot, it's possible that your anxiety about your hr is what's elevating it. If you feel OK you probably are. Try taking the watch off and go by how you feel.
Take the programme nice and slow, and well done for doing it!
