80's pop, wet feet and sunday reflections

It has been properly wet and miserable here but I had promised myself that today was run day. So off I went to the local country park, a 15 min warm up walk away from home, with an 80s playlist to try and lift my soggy spirits 🌧

I did a lot of my early c25k sessions in the park so I felt quite reflective today on how much has changed since week 1 back in September. And its not just the weather 😆 I am fitter, stronger, and have so much more energy. I feel more like me again, even though technically there is less of me!! It's not always easy to create new habits and drag yourself out there, especially in the early days, but if you are just starting out, know it is so worth it.

I had planned a 30min consolidation run [about 4k for me] but when I reached that point I felt good, and Kenny Loggins was in the middle of kicking off his sunday shoes, so I carried on to 5k 🏃‍♀️ before squelching home feeling very proud of myself 👍

🍏 Well that’s commitment for you! Well done on the 5k milestone… a reward for your determined consolidation. Lots of positivity here to inspire us all to keep moving towards our goal! Thank you! ☺️

From your squelchy feet comment it sounds like you're encountering puddles (yeah, I know I missed my vocation and should have been a detective lol)? Can I recommend Balega socks, they wick the water away from your skin so that after about 10 seconds of freezing horror your feet dry up and warm up.

This way when you kick off your running shoes your tootsies might be a bit more comfortable :)

(If you already know this, sorry)
