Week 1: 💥Congratulations, 💥Celebrations 💥Consolidation

Congratulations to all our new Graduates as we move into this first week of January 2024 and celebrate a new year! You made that awesome decision to start running or to start over again. Your hard work, perseverance and determination has paid off! You have GRADUATED!! You go into this New Year as a confident Runner!

The C25K Team congratulate you on your incredible achievement. You are starting the New Year on a high. Who knows what you will achieve next or where running will take you. You have yet to discover the many gifts running will bring to you!

Your Graduation was a very special moment and the exhilaration and joy at achieving your dream may have given way, to what now? You need realistic, attainable goals, long term and short term ones and where better to start than at the beginning of a new year!

🏆 Claim your Badge if you haven’t done so already!

Mummycav who hosted our chat last month with her inspirational fun Christmas pictures, will be presenting our badges this month. You will also receive good links from her to advice about Consolidation, Graduation Certificates, plus the all important Strength and Flex Links. Thanks Mummycav! 🤩

🏆 If you are already into something new. We would love to hear about it.

🏆The suggestion is to CONSOLIDATE for about 3 weeks. This is a short term goal to move you toward fulfilling your longer term goal. This will look different for every one of you. You have worked so hard for 9 weeks so now it’s time to relax and enjoy your runs. You are continuing to build up this new habit to make it part of your lifestyle, to strengthen your legs and lungs and even more importantly your mental resolve. You will have 3 weeks to think about the next step. For me at this stage I simply wanted to be able to run a bit further in my own time. In time this goal changed… running is never static 😊 our goals may change as we go a long, as life happens..but oh it’s so good to dream and set the little goals that move us towards the dream.

🍏 Keep that routine going of 3 runs a week for 30mins without adding any extra time for a little while. Consolidating through winter is extra challenging, but the up side is, you will build mental stamina and stronger determination, faster than in any other season. Are you up for it? We can encourage, help and give you tips all the way through to Spring!

🍏 If you miss the trainer in your ear, explore other apps that offer guided runs. Highly recommended is the free Nike Run Club App. You look for a guided 30 min EASY run. There are many with fun titles and good coaching.

🍏 Some folk prefer the freedom of a sensory run, just running without anything in their ears, enjoying the sights, smells and the breeze.

🍏Enjoy your own uninterrupted music or podcasts.

🍏 Explore new routes maybe one with a hill.

🍏 Try running with a friend or joining a running club

🍏Try a Park run… run for 30 mins at your own pace, and walk the rest.

🍎 You could join me & others in the team in the RED January, Challenge! Run or Exercise Every Day this Month. I run Mon, Wed, Friday and do a walk, Pilates or strength and flex on the other days.

🏆💥Your Story…this is the place to share your journey through C25

We would value hearing it even if you have never posted before!

👉Please let us know if you are onboard the New Graduates Club but haven’t been tagged. Just your name below will suffice & we will tag you in future posts each week.

This is a fantastic new post for.2024...!So much information and so many choices !

Well.... I am here as a Re-Graduate and you've got me thinking!

Because I've been out for a while and had to build back to 5K slowly...I'm going to use my first week or two of January to consolidate a bit.

Short runs and some relaxed 30 minutes...as time moves on..I will get a 10K plan going...as someone who has run for 8 years plus.. I'm okay with that;)

I'm going to incorporate some runs into my Red January exercises too.

Wow

A lot to mull on...thank you so much!! My brain is working!!

Xxx

🍏That’s sounds like a lot you have planned planned Oldfloss it’s great to have you onboard! Consolidation iin January is timely as you can pick and choose the relaxed runs & save all the training for your 10k when the weather eases a bit.. Sounds good 🤩

Tomorrow is a red January exercise day for me.. this accountability to a plan or a challenge is so good for us! Thanks for joining in this Chat xx

Well today was the day! Raining and windy a perfect day to finish off my c25k! If I wait for a sunny dry day then I could be waiting for a long time!

It is amazing how far we go from the initial 1 min runs to the end of the programme with 30min runs..

So I will keep up the 30min plus runs...some days I keep go going longer others not so much, gradually improving. I would love to see how far I can run for time and distance this year and I am looking at 5k events near me.

All positive from here on, medical issues put behind me hopefully. Future is bright 😊

😊😊

Graduation day final run done! Well done badge with a star from the app.

🍏🤩👏🎶🥳⭐️☀️So so well done Heather!! Such an achievement after all you have been through!

Yes working towards a 5K event after a bit of consolidation is perfect!! 👌 NRC have a good training for a 5K race if you want to take a look. It helps you to build up speed and distance very slowly & safely.

Do keep us informed next week as to how you are doing! Thanks for your input! Now go and celebrate!!!
