week 5 done!

Well, after a difficult week 5 run 1, followed by a very enjoyable run 2, today was the day for run 3 and the 🤫 SShhh… 20mins run…

I looked out the window at 7:00 this morning and it was drizzling- that’s ok for me but anxiety started to set in and I checked weather app numerous times and eventually decided to wait for one hour - as it was predicted to stop. I faffed and faffed some more, should I wait till lunchtime maybe, was I really ready for this, I don’t want to have to redo this run, does it matter if I put it off for another 2 days until I am wfh again??? So much going around in my head. Eventually I realised I wanted to run it was the prospect of running for 20 mins that was concerning me. Gave myself a talking to and eventually got out the door just as the rain stopped and the sun came out.

my preferred route across the field path was a bit muddy and full of puddles( some small a couple of very big ones that meant my feet got a bit wet) but otherwise passable. It was quiet with only 2 dog walkers coming the other way and so I had the countryside to myself and it was glorious. Warm but not too warm, sunny but not too sunny with gusty wind at times. The views across the fields are great with the cowls of some Kentish Oasts in the distance.

Before I’d really thought much about it, Mr Cram told me it was half way - wow, how did that happen and without a struggle? The horned ram 🐏 in the field was curious too and stared at me puzzled.

I am loving Steve Cram’s coaching style (this might be turning into a crush 😻) he was there just when needed with all the right words off encouragement.

20 mins done- very slowly but nevertheless I did it and it felt comfortable and proved once again this program is as much about psychological endurance as it is physical endurance.

So pleased I talked myself into giving it a go!

Those were some tricky gremlins you beat off there, what a good run to have done and in the sunshine too 😁
