Week 5: Holy Moly; Guacamole!

So, Week 5 was quite the treat! I am glad I unwrapped it nicely. Having completed this week, to be honest, I am ready for whatever Laura, Sanjeev, or Michael throw my way. The first two runs were good and I even managed to glide across the 8-min run of W5D2. But W5D3 had me pause in my stead as I was about to head out on my run - 20 mins of running! Old me would have chickened out but I told myself to go on and just trust the system and smooth suave voice of Sanjeev to get me through. And oh my, I did it, y'all! The first 10 mins were the hardest but I slowed down when needed but kept moving. After that was done, the remaining 10 mins felt like nothing. That run pattern can be likened to a normal distribution, which in itself is symbolic for me as I ran up the hill for the first 10 mins and downwards for the latter.

My endurance grew in abundance and I could not have been prouder of myself. Like I did 20 whole minutes?! Like, wait, what?! For anyone like me who's about to embark on this journey, remember to breath and trust that all you have learned in the past four weeks would have prepared you for this run and subsequent ones. And yes, you can do it!

So I guess the real question is, whatcha got for me now, Week 6? Cuz ready or not, here I come-a-running!!!

Well done! Week 5 is the game changer. You can run for 20 minutes now. Thirty minutes doesn't seem that far away, does it?

Just as an aside, what app are you using? it looks different from the one I use.

I use both the UK and US version at the same time - the breakdown of the runs are the same. The former for its excellent trainers (and the British accent) and the ample tips they provide, and the latter for how it actually maps my runs. The inset picture is from the American version. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I didn't know there were two choices. I just downloaded the one linked on this forum home page. So I guess I'm using the UK one with the American accent (MJ) 😀

Haha, there you go. The US one was available from my app store but the UK one I had to download via a third-party as it was not available in the US.

Thank you and well done :)
