Hi gang,
I've not posted much lately, but I'm still here having to take it very slowly.
I only managed one run on my restart with my running buddy after hurting my foot, because she fell over one evening and hurt her ankle, which put her out of action for a few weeks too! At the same time I found myself struggling with my own energy levels (I think it's the lingering effects of covid which reappear every so often). It's literally been a bumpy road for the both of us. But we are still determined, and we'll be running together again as soon our schedules allow.
Meanwhile I've been out doing a few week 3 runs, and I've started working on rebuilding the muscle strength in my weak side. So on Sunday I tried a week 4 run and again this morning.
I even got up early today so I could run before it got too hot!
I mean, I've been around this block a few times now, but I've never found that first run of week 4 so hard as it did on Sunday! I kept thinking the app must have stopped but no, it was just that time had slowed down for that 3 minutes. And the 5 minutes. π Thankfully, this morning it felt easier, and by the end of the run, I actually felt quite good! So I'm feeling quietly hopeful for run 3.
It was good to be out early with a chill in the air and the sun lighting up the fields, and as I walked home I passed lots of children heading in the opposite direction to school and I could feel the temperature already beginning to creep up. Then home for breakfast with raspberries from the garden π
Lately I've been running in the evening, but today was a reminder to me that early morning runs are pretty special so I'll try to get a few more in before winter.
