Oh wow!! IDID IT!!! 100% completed todays run!!! What a feeling! I know it's only W1 ... but for the first time I actually felt success!!! I completed every run ... and at a comfortable pace!
Still red faced and in shock!!! What led to my success today??? Did my fitness really improve that fast??? Do I run faster on hot muggy days??? Was it my new 89% cotton leggings??? Did I not want to look silly in front of youngest and ferret???
The penny suddenly dropped that my 'brisk walk' was toooo brisk aka brisk power walk. It was faster than my Run.
I consciously managed to persuade my 'oh so keen' legs to run very slowly ... much to the amusement of dh, youngest and Ghoul.
I had forgiven myself to accept that I would be repeating at least one of Sarah M's W1 Runs ... if not the whole week.
But not now I won't!!! π (unless I start again further down the line ... but thats for then).
Dripping now ... but feeling fab-u-lous!!! I am starting to believe I've actually got it in me, however long it takes!!!
Thankyou lovely guys for all your encouragement. WE are amazing!!! π₯°

Thats wonderful news and you are awesome, brisk walk, slow run, its those slow runs that build your strength and stamina to be able to go further, and one day you will realise your slow isnt quite as slow as it used to be.
brilliant! In many ways, Week 1 is the hardest week. Well, it was for me πYouβve every reason to feel super proud and confident going into Week 2. πππππ

Well done you. It was fab reading your post as your feeling of utter enjoyment, pleasure and real sense of achievement at completing w1 really came through. Thank you.

The best news! Week 1 for me was one of the worst! Itβs such a good feeling to complete it and grit it out. Gives you a big mental boost, as well as the physical gains. It gives you belief that you can do this!!! The programme is amazing. Take it slow. Donβt beat yourself up over re doing any runs though if you feel you have to, stay in your lane and you will 100% complete this!
The leggings were the winning factor!! Itβs funny how we search for the formula and try to replicate weekly! Since week one before I go out the door I have to have a few jellybeans!!! Iβve got a jar of them on the table! Iβm convinced these have magic power and get me through these runs!!!! π€£π€£π€£
