Congratulations to you Novice67 on completing run 1 of week 1 of C25K and welcome to the forum, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K, if you wish you can report your progress on this forum, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾

well done! One run at a time and take it gently! I am a big fan of the slow jog, it has really helped me to keep a very gentle pace and not feel the urge pretend I am an athlete. Run one I was grumpy and a little anxious at the start and joyful at the end. Hold onto that good feeling - it’s what helps you get your trainers on and then on again! Looking forward to following your story!

Hello. I too am a novice of nearly 67 and only joined 2 weeks ago after getting shock results from blood tests. Started week 3 yesterday after going back to docs for repeat blood tests which came back with amazing improvements. No longer pre diabetic. Cholesterol exemplary (doc’s words). No longer at cardiovascular risk and 5kg lighter. This process and drinking 2litres of water a day has shown great results so far and I am determined to continue. Won’t say I find it easy but certainly doable and, for me, having great music really helps. Some of the great advice I’ve had from this group really helps and encourages and, as I’ve been told, when it feels difficult remember why you’re doing it. Believe and trust in the process and in yourself. You can do it 😃

Well done for taking that first step. I’ll be 67 later this year and it’s always good to see others becoming runners later in life - and you are now a runner! I managed to put diabetes into remission 2 years ago so good to hear you’ve got your bloods back to normal. It really works.

🎈🎈how splendid !

Have you found the slow running video? If not I’ll try to for you. It really helped me understand the sort of (non) speed I should aim for and made the difference between discomfort and enjoyment!

Hi - welcome to C25k and the forum.

Amazing job for getting out and completing the first run! Hardest part can be the very start of the journey.

Use this forum for support and any questions you may have. Running always lifts my mood and makes me feel better and I am hoping to lose weight too.

Wish you luck, enjoy the process and use the forums as people are great at advice and support x
