Altrincham grandmother runs PB in Trafford 10k – on her 85th birthday

A grandmother from Altrincham completed the Trafford 10k on her 85th birthday on Sunday, raising money for St Ann’s Hospice.

Barbara Thackray ran the event alongside 11 members of her family, finishing in a personal best of 85 minutes.

Barbara only took up running as a 77-year-old and also completed last year’s Altrincham 10k.

(This is from March, but I've only just noticed it.)

That is excellent that he is still running 10Ks at 85, at one of the parkruns I go to there are 2 men who are in their 80's and two others who are 79 and still running sub 35 minute 5Ks, so by next year there could be as many as 4 men running at that parkrun who are in their 80's.
