Well, it’s 6 months since I had Covid and then long Covid and at last I managed a 5 minute ‘jog’. It was slow but felt good. I mustn’t push it as until a month ago, I couldn’t even walk round the block without getting out of breath. So, I will soon be back doing C25K but may do each week twice!

6 months post Covid and running shoes back on!

How lovely to read this and so wonderful that you finally feel able to put those running shoes on again.

That's a very long recovery so well done to you for not pushing too soon and having the patience to wait until you're ready to start again. Good luck 😁

Nice to see you back! Poor you - covid can be so debilitating. I'm sure you'll bounce back, but carefully!
So good to hear you’re back to C25K. So very sorry that Covid had such a legacy on your health. Hope all goes well with your new C25K journey 😊

Good to see you,... that pesky Covid has taken its toll on many of us , and the leftovers have been long felt!
Slow and steady is still the mantra... believe me, the first walk I tried after Covid for Christmas, was slower than a snail on a go slow...BUT....it comes back... don't push, just go with the flow... you will get there and as you well know... the runs do wait!
Thank goodness!

Thank you everyone, what I am looking forward to most is posting on here and feeling that wonderful support!

How wonderful and a good idea to repeat the runs. I did this after repeated debilitating chest infections. When I got yo week 5 I felt I didn't need the repeat anymore ❤️

I too am just recovering from covid. Second time around, just as bad as first time.
Struggling to walk up the garden and back without a sit down. Awful illness. Well done for getting out there.

I am really sorry I missed your previous post and very relieved to see that you didn't follow the advice of your GP to engage in 'graded exercise'
Your key challenge may not in practice be the actual runs (although there's no way I'd torture myself with a Week 1 session 6 times over! 3 is enough... and it is such a hard one to pace) The challenge, depending on your recovery (ie are you over the underlying illness and 'just' recovering fitness, or are you learning to cope with where you are) may be sorting out your overall activity levels. (For me, if I want to run, and I do, because my underlying illness doesn't exempt me from the risk of illness due to the imposed lack of activity, I have to cut out some other things.) Given that you've done C25K before, it could be that more than one rest day between each run will be needed as sometimes symptoms take a while to appear ie there is a risk of overdoing it with long term consequences. I would suggest being especially careful if you are working as cognitive effort has a big impact. It's not like normal fitness.
