Ah, hills! They can be hard. They’re brilliant for building fitness though and they’re a great way to see progress over time. What feels like a mountain now may well feel like a gentle slope in the future. Well done for getting through a tough run! Slowing down or walking if you need to is totally fine!
Just to check-did you run yesterday too? It’s best to keep rest days for at least six months after you start regular running to reduce your chance of getting injured. No one wants that straight after graduating!
Yes I completed the Couch to 5k yesterday. That right I really don't want to injury myself. But because of work I can only do my runs on my days off. Thanks for the encouragement.👋
It’s really tricky when days off fall together. I used to do a good walk or strength/flex work the day after a run until I’d been at it long enough to run on consecutive days. That will benefit your running too…strength work is often neglected by newer runners and it’s so great for making you more resistant to getting injured.
Hopefully as you carry on running post graduation you’ll find a pattern that suits but also allows you the rest you need.
Congratulations on graduating by the way! I can’t believe I forgot to say that in my first post!! 👩🎓🏅🏃♀️❤️🎉

Well done you... hills are surprisingly, our friends.. the more we do, the stronger we get ! Loads of ideas for strength and stamina work over on the S and F forum. Short work outs and longer ones too.
Ok thanks 👍 I will check the S and F forum out .
Please do,, there is so much on there that really will help... A simple starting point maybe...is this link to some old posts from me on there...but there is so much in the way of other exercises too..

Well done! Hills need a bit of technique to get up them. Next time shorten your stride (baby steps) and increase your cadence. A bit like changing down a gear. Then drive your arms backwards like you're going to elbow someone. Your arms are your accelerators and drive your legs. It take a bit of practice, but makes hills so much easier!
