Woahh, we're halfway there..

I've been lurking here for a while but only got around to starting c25k last month, so just wanted to pop by and say hello!

I had little faith when I panted my way through those first 60 second runs that within a few weeks I would be able to do two eight minute jogs and... dare I say it... enjoy them! And just like that I'm halfway through the programme.

I'm a complete novice, haven't run since my school days and haven't really exercised properly for years... Kids, work and life just taking over. So it feels good to have that half hour to myself every other day and I think I can already feel my fitness improving.

W5 R3 still looks very scary, but I'm starting to think I might actually be able to do it. Watch this space...

Hello, welcome and well done you!

Good to see you ! Another awesome Mama... and so, so good that you are taking time for yourself and enjoying the whole thing!

The physical and mental benefits of the C25K programme are just immeasurable, and the whole plan is about so much more than just runs.

You are halfway through, you are doing fine, all you need to do now is... carry on doing just what you are doing.

This post written by one of our dear friends , sadly, lost to us now ,may give you some reassurance.

So many folk have felt a tad concerned when they look at Week 5...I remember 8 years ago...lying in bed on the Sunday night, thinking... " ..how on earth can i do that... ". But with huge support from the then mentors, I went out, i trusted the plan and I did it!

As will you... you are already halfway there... no, not in the plan... in Week 5, why? Because you are already beginning to feel positive about it!

" Believe you can, and you are halfway there ".

You will definitely do it!. I finished my last run of week 9 last week and have been reflecting on how on my first run, 60 seconds seemed like a lifetime and I now I can run 30 mins straight (not always easy) but the encouragement from the mentors and that halfway bell are like magic. Keep going you got this💪

This is so right. Our garden is 60m. I can 18 months ago not being able to cross the patio without sitting down. 2 months ago I gently jogged down the garden. Today I did Week 5, run 1. That first minute run was like Everest, but we did it!

Well done on getting halfway 👏🏻 and you totally will be able to do week 5 run 3 if you trust in the program - which has totally worked for you so far 😉

I’ll look forward to your post after that run - just keep it slow and you’ll be fine 👍🏻

Thank you so much everyone! It's been so inspiring reading everyone else's stories. Such a supportive forum. I'll definitely update after my next run 🤞

Well done! I’be just finished week 5 r2 today. Although I’ve done program before w5r3 feels a bit intimidating but I know it was ok before. The best advice is always ‘trust in the program’ it does work!
