W9R3 - Been There, (Just) Done It!

Today was always the day I was meant to 'graduate' I think, the storm we had here Fri and yesterday cleared and despite it being the morning after my works Christmas Do all that dancing limbered me up nicely I think!

I can not believe I've done this programme week in and week out but from the outset, and from reading other members posts, I just knew I would be able to manage it.

The run today along the riverbank felt comfortable for the first 20 mins, I had to push the last 10 mins and the last 5 mins it was 'lovely Laura's' encouraging dulcet tones, and my sheer determination to complete any session first go, that go me through.

I started this to feel fitter - and I do, lose some lbs - and now I am, free my mind - and it has! I'd always wondered if running would be for me because those benefits are what I need in my life and I'm so chuffed that I can say yes running is all the above and more.

I will keep repeating W9 x3 a week as it's still not pretty and not entirely comfortable for the whole session but I'm definitely going further every time and my recovery seems very quick now.

Thanks for all your posts and supportive words of encouragement. I'm blinking well over the moon - this less overweight and not so old bird can actually run!!!

Many congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

This guide to post C25K running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

C25K is so much more than just learning to run...........to put myself in the firing line for being pretentious, I would suggest it is about learning to live.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Well done Graduate!

You'll soon be feeling comfortable running 30 minutes and will be itching to do more. Onwards and upwards!

Thank you! It was definitely a more pleasant and comfortable run today, especially the first 20 mins. Onwards and upwards will make it a comfortable 30 mins I'm sure!
