W8r3 developed a dry cough?

been enjoying my runs and really proud to reach 28 minutes running !

never been able to run ( well jog) before due to knee problems but yep am there!

this week though I seem to have a very dry throat and tickly cough? I’ve been running on the treadmill- gym is air conditioned- and the dry tickly throat and cough has only just happened?

anyone else experiencing this? Maybe due to running for longer? Tips please

Congratulations on your super progress! Not long until you get your virtual graduate badge. It’s great to look back and realise how far you’ve come from running a minute at a time.

Are you sure your cough is definitely related to the running? There are a lot of bugs about at the moment. Perhaps it’s just a coincidence? Air con gives me a dry throat and I think that’s quite common. Sips of water on your run might help that.

Hope it’s just one of those niggles that passes-those are pretty common in the life of a runner! Good luck with your next run 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

thank you for your observations. Yes it may be a coincidence will press on and see what happens on my next run. I’m so keen to press on that I may need to just hold back a little and achieve 20- 25 minutes !

That sounds like a good plan. Try it and see. It’s really good to practice running at a super comfortable pace so holding back is not in any way a bad thing. I’m sneezing away this morning…hay fever. Let’s hope that cough leaves you alone!

Air con always makes me cough, might be that, rather than the running itself

Do you cough when you're not running?

I am at the moment yes! So I think it’s a bit of hay fever, coupled with the air con in the gym. I’m going to rest for a couple days and return next week but gradually ease my way back up to 28 minutes.

Thank you for your suggestion

Have you done a Covid test? That’s exactly how mine started both times that I had it. Worth a check.
