hey all, I’m interested to know if anyone out there is monitoring their blood sugar - and if they discovered, as i did to my surprise this morning , that their c25k session caused a bump in blood sugar?
I now have week 6 run 1 in the bag (took an extra rest day last week - needed it after Eurovision related partying!)

I'm sort of monitoring my glucose levels, I'm on a keto diet and randomly take my glucose and ketone readings.Exercise does increase glucose levels, there is a guy on YouTube, Thomas delaurer I think his name is, goes through it, he's a very science based personal trainer.
As I understand it, you may experience a spike in blood sugar during or just after exercise as glycogen is releases from the liver to fuel the muscles but as an overall benefit of exercise your blood sugars will fall .
I'm type 2 diabetic and have been advised by my Dr not to run prior to my 6 monthly blood test because my sugar levels will be elevated to feed my muscles. I can say, my diabetes is now controlled by diet and exercise, no meds at all.
