11 Weeks ago I was diagnosed type 2 diabetes, this news kicked me into gear. Things needed to change.

I asked friends what they thought I need to do outside of dietary changes and they all said "you need to move, do some exercise" 95kg stubborn woman I just laughed.

I chose running and cried every day, Couldnt even do 30 secs. I had to do wk1 for 3 weeks. C25K has totally changed my life, without it I would have given up a long tone ago. W8R2 & 3 nearly saw me sabotage all my efforts. The emotional breakdown I suffered was a release of old beliefs of failure and I smashed through the blocks.

With perseverance and determination, I stopped drinking, eating sugar and all things starchy carb. I am now 80kg, that's 15kg lighter, and the ultimate triumph is I have reduced the blood sugar to normal levelsπŸŽ‰

Tomorrow sees me reach the final run of the program W9R3, and the 1st run to greater things!!!

Wow! This is AMAZING! You took control – and succeeded. Such a wonderful story, thank you for sharing. I am so happy to hear that you got your blood sugars back to normal. You should be the poster girl for C25K and what it can do. You are right, it can be very hard, but much of that is in your head; you proved your mental strength. Enjoy your last run of the programme – and your running life beyond that! So much fun to come...the great thing about running is that there is always something new to learn, new challenges to take on, and greater levels of fitness and wellbeing to come. All the very best to you.

Hey! Go you! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Great news on the diabetes front too.

The weight loss is impressive. During my C25K "journey" I dropped 5kg (so, pretty chuffed with that) and two months on, with the consolidation programme, maintaining sensible eating habits and so on, it's dropped a further 4kg, Nothing to compare with what you have done however, so massive respect and applause πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Best wishes for the final run of the programme (and consolidation or whatever you do next).

Hey Val, pretty good achievement . Just responding to you since I was also diagnosed exactly 11 weeks back and have started C25k. I am at w4 though because of starting late. I played more sports earlier. Now I run. Only difference is I am off medication too after 10 weeks. Feeling happy, energetic and stress free. Running does lot of positive changes. Keep going strong πŸ’ͺ. Cheers 😊

That’s one heck of a success story. Be very proud of yourself. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
