Maybe it will be fun today 😩😅
On my 2nd 28 minute run…: Maybe it will be fun... - Couch to 5K
On my 2nd 28 minute run…
It will be fun JJAnBan, congratulations on almost completing C25K, only 4 more runs until you graduate after today's run.
Thank you! It was fun-ish for about 12 minutes.
The first or last twelve? My runs always start off not fun and improve-do you know about the toxic ten? Your body need a bit of time to adjust to the act of running and start to feel comfortable. Knowing that’s coming helps me to prepare for the fun to come later!
Hopefully as you run more, you’ll find the fun parts get longer. You’re doing brilliantly.
Thank you. Strangely, I felt better at the beginning. I have no idea what to make of it.
Slow, steady and on you go! Well done you!
I've been doing this for nearly five years now and I still wouldn't describe it as fun. I like the way I feel when it's done but Parkrun is still hard work.
I've noticed that the first run of a workout feels not good, I've been experimenting with a 3 -5 minute run followed by a 3-5 minute walk before the workout starts, then my first run feels a bit more enjoyable for longer.Everyone is different you must do what's right for you.
Congrats to everyone on the C25K programme past and present.👍
Must admit I am actually finding it enjoyable, I’m at the same stage as you now. Having said that, the first few minutes are always a bit of a slog and I’m glad when the half way bell goes.
Have you tried changing your route or listening to something different? Since the runs have got longer and the weather has improved, I’ve started running slightly out of town and through a local wood… the change of scenery and loss of repetition of parts of the route I was doing before seems to have helped me.
I’m on a treadmill right now. The last time I tried to start outside, I hit a root on the ground and fell. I have some neuropathy in my feet from chemo and I think I just didn’t feel it. I’m going to try outside again, but I’m nervous and want to finish c25k on the treadmill first. I think you’re right that the change in scenery will help!
definitely start off slowly…slower than slow & see what happens next time…I think you’ll find you don’t burn out as quick & before you know it you be running with a smile & wonder why it wasn’t fun before!
