Latest Information after seeing Specialist Consultant

Today, I saw the Consultant Specialist who put the information of the Hospital Report and the MRI scan in to plain English.

The good news is it’s not a muscle tear but a tear between the two calf muscles 22cm in length. It seems this is a rare injury with the Consultant only seeing two such cases in the last two years and both of them today.

Diagnosis is at least 8 week recovery period on top of the three weeks I have suffered the injury. Today is first day of exercises from the Physio and the start of the recovery.

Hoping it will be quicker but it seems it’s a slow process because don’t want it happening again which if I don’t do the physio it is very likely.

Onwards and upwards! I always knew you were special 😜

Seriously though, now you know what it is and that it is definitely fixable, you have a goal to work towards. Pob luc (good luck!) and may you soon be back running comfortably 🙏

Well, that both sucks and doesn't suck at the same time. Good news, you know what it is and it can be fixed, bad news you're on the IC for a couple of months. Are you allowed to do anything else? Could you swim, for example?

Good luck with physio

yes they said I can swim and cycle although not really a lot of places to cycle safely here and I guess on that I will have to wait until physio says I can and for how long. Swimming I am not great probably do a width which won’t be much use 😂 in the building up of muscles so likely to just be the exercises and I can walk as long as I am not route marching for hours.

Sorry to hear about the injury P17 but at least you know exactly what it is now and have a recovery plan! Good luck - and keep doing the exercises!

thanks Oldgirlruns I will do I can’t afford not too as there is a likelihood it could happen again if I don’t.
