Off for a scan...pause in running๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Had a visit to the physio today and explained how slow progress is with my running. I am apparently building up muscle mass in my calf again (good news ) but to put my mind at rest she has suggested that I have an ultrasound scan done to look more closely at the injury site and to see how it is healing. She feels my slow progress is just down to it having been a bad tear but has also suggested maybe not running until I have had the scan and feel reassured. This is a bit of a blow to say the least but I also feel slightly relieved that I will know more reliably what stage of recovery I am at. So for the next couple of weeks it's lots of cycling with the kids for me, plus carrying on with squats, calf raises etc. Graduation? What graduation? it just keeps slipping away!

  • You've seen a physio which is a boon! You know what's what and that things are under control, so don't be down about it. You're on the road to recovery, and with all those cross training exercises, when you do return to the programme, you should feel good. Be careful about your eats and drinks and you'll be good to go when you finally race up those trainers.

At least the end is in sight and things are progressing. Frustrating times but you have to allow the leg to heal. A tip top diet will help the healing process so lots of vitamin b rich foods for you

    Good luck!

  • Lots of good advice as usual miss w! Thanx!

  • Sorry to hear that Sandra , must be very frustrating for you xxx

But the good news is you can be fixed . Once you've got a plan in place you can work on your comeback ! :-)

Theres loads of us on the IC, youre not alone ! :-) xxx

  • Thanks Poppy !

  • What a shame Sandra but it's good that you're getting this seen to. Don't worry about how long it takes to graduate. It took me 6 months for various reasons and it really doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

  • Thanks for your thoughts - you are of course right!

  • you WILL get there I am sure.. and ill be down the front row cheering you when you graduate!!
