Week 5 complete!

Yesss! I did it!

I never would have believed two weeks ago that I would be running for 20 minutes - let alone be enjoying it too! I know it's only a small achievement in the grand scheme of things but I'm so proud of myself and I really feel now like I can complete the programme!

For me (and many others from what I've read) week 5 was a huge mental barrier. I've been redoing weeks three and four on and off for about three months but with the new year and what not I set the intention to commit to running three times a week and conquering the dreaded week 5! Now that I've done it I don't know what I was worrying about; I felt challenged but at no point did I feel like I needed to stop! I'm going to enjoy a nice hot shower now whilst the little one is still napping and might even treat myself to a gin this evening.

My wisdom for today: You never know what you're capable of until you give it a try

You deserve that gin Newbierrunner96, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, you should be very proud of yourself, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾.

Awesome!! You definitely earned that gin 😊 Really well done as it's a big achievement and milestone run. Keep going because if you're consistent then it's the magic key. Have a fab evening and be proud of yourself.

This is absolutely brilliant! Massive congratulations on that run…the best in the programme in my opinion!

Enjoy that gin. Enjoy your rest day(s). Enjoy your next run too!!! Just keep it steady and hold on to all that joy ❤️🏃‍♀️❤️

Well done on completing week 5 👏🏻 Like you I also labelled it ‘the dreaded week 5’ but found it really enjoyable - in fact one of the best parts of the ct5k programme. Like AlMorr says just watch out for week 6 run 1, it lulls you into thinking it’ll be easier as it’s back to walk breaks but it’s not, just take it really slow and you’ll be fine. Good luck - I really enjoyed the last two weeks with no breaks. 😉

It’s a great feeling -doing it and realising that you will have it in you to do 30mins in only a few weeks.

Looking forward to hearing about Week6 and beyond.

Woohoo! Well done newbie, week 5 looms large until you try it and realise it's mainly mind games. I like your approach of trying to sneak up on it quietly, then attacking it when it expects you to go for week 4 again!
