I've just done week 4...when I say "done", I mean I did more than week 3 and I have run for 5 minutes in one go, but I found it really tough and can't honestly say I successfully completed every second of running Sarah told me to. So to say week 5 scares me is an understatement. I feel like I need to do each of the week 5 runs 3 times and build things more slowly or I'm in danger of failing/quitting or injuring myself. I'm more interested in making it to the end rather than rushing it.
Has anyone else "stretched out" some elements of the programme?

Folk do it, their way..but, if you are competing the runs..move on... If you have not..then do, repeat those runs...you just take it as slowly as you like
As for feeling nervous... I am going to give you the reply I have just posted to someone else..
Every run prepares you for the next... every week builds on the previous week. Yes, the runs are different, yes, they change and challenge a little... but in a safe structured way.
The runs have to be structured differently because your runs are never the same.. short runs, which may need more speed. and then longer runs which require more stamina... all you do here, is the beginning of that process.
So...carry on with what you are doing.... you are doing just fine... take it slowly and steadily and believe that you will do this... because you will..
As Edison said,
" If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves
Week 5 is just another week of runs that are totally achievable if you have successfully completed earlier workouts. If you have not completed those earlier sessions, then I would suggest repeating each run as explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You are building your body, not checking tickboxes, and you are in control, so do it your way.
Basically what Oldfloss & Iannodatruffe said! They are both right (and both really know their stuff). I know it's prob been said a million times but have you tried slowing down? I struggled initially & realised I was going way too fast - slowed it right down & then slowed it down some more. Even the warm up walk. That helped me a lot. Good luck whatever you decide to do & keep us posted.
Thank you, to be fair, I'm not sure I could go any slower than I am already, but I'm keen to get out there again tomorrow and do more running minutes than I did last week, so all good!
