First run completed it mate ✅

The second 2 minute run I was like I could easily run 5k I feel great. A hill then happened and I definitely wasn’t as positive 😂 The last two minute runs I found very hard - ankles hurt, stabbing pain in thigh and some exercise induced asthma (I haven’t suffered from asthma since I was a child) I think my body was in shock that I was actually doing some exercise and didn’t know how to cope. Even Cardi B wasn’t helping. Think I need to listen to something more motivating.

Anyways here’s to run number ✌🏻

p.s apparently shouldn’t show you what I look like so here’s me with a filter. I hope I feel this happy after the next run 🥴

Well done to you.

Glad you’ve joined the run chatter here.

Someone with expertise and some links to appropriate reads-and there is some good advice to be had-will be along to give you wise words.

My only tip from my short experience is to remember it’s time never speed or distance. You are nurturing the future runner within so don’t put yourself off by getting a sprain.

Even at my old age I have to remind myself to go slowly (and anyone looking on might be thinking sad to see that old lady shuffling about!)

That first run is a shock, hopefully by week 1/run3 you will be feeling ready to take on week2-and beyond . Good luck

Welcomed and well done you on that first run. Please do read the essential guide to completing the programme.

Slow and steady is the way, no need for speed and no need to push yourself at all. follow the plan and listen very carefully to your body.

Do make sure that you are not putting any stress on yourself:)

Keep posting your runs here for incredible support and encouragement.

Ah, the unexpected hill! Living somewhere with loads of them, I feel for you! They’ll become your friends…they’re superb for building fitness and they keep things interesting. Slow and steady, slower and steadier, step by step you’ll get there.

Just take care that by pushing on when your ankles hurt you’re getting “stabbing pain” you’re not risking an injury. It’s much better long term to drop to a walk and recover rather than push yourself to complete a run and end up on the injury couch. You can always repeat any runs you haven’t completed-treat them like practice runs which are making you stronger and fitter.

Really well done for starting. Enjoy some well earned rest and good luck for your next run,🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
