I’ve read several posts about starting to run after an illness but I’m not sure if the advice is valid for post operative running. I have completed C25K a couple of times since Jan 2021 but have had long breaks between for various reasons. I got to week 7 in August of this year then had time away followed by an operation towards the end of September (in theatre for 5 hours or so). I started back on week 4 last week and it has been a real struggle, more so than on any of my other attempts. Has anyone any advice on when to start post operative running.? I had a small tumour removed from my forehead which involved a skin graft. Healing nicely.

I think this a question that’s best discussed with a medical person involved in your care, unless you’ve already been told you’re fine to start running again.
After a couple of months off and a long operation, I’d be going right back to the beginning of c25k when you’ve been reassured that it’s ok to begin. There’s absolutely no shame in starting again and taking it slowly. You’ve been through something massive. Recovering from that has to be your top priority,
Really glad you’re healing well and hoping that continues ❤️
