Week5 Run3 Done it!

I just wanted to share how ecstatic I am at getting this far on this programme. Like others I was nervous about doing the 20 min run but after the first 5 mins I just focused on my breathing and tried not to think about the time. I walked back home with the biggest smile and whispered to myself I could almost call myself a runner. That is a totally crazy thought but I will savour this little victory for a day.

Well done ! That's a great run to complete.

And you will be smiling for a long time 😬

Take your time with week 6 runs 1 and 2 as they often catch people out with going back to intervals!

Thank you for that piece of advice I shall be beware and not fool myself that it will be easy. I am really enjoying the challenge.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, but you are not officially a runner until you complete run 3 of week 6 which I know you will next week, you deserve to be very proud of yourself.Onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran.

Thank you for your wise words. It is very true that I am not a runner yet but I will keep that tiny whisper to myself until I am. My new motto is I can I will succeed.

Slow is good. We are moving that is the important thing. Keep going 👍

Yay! Well done 👏🏻 It took me ages before I’d say ‘I’m going for a run’ as I didn’t consider myself a runner but when you get to the run 3 of week 5 and you run for 20 mins with no intervals - you’re a runner 👏🏻☺️😉

Thank you Dendev at nearly 68 this is as good as it gets. A trot or shuffle all count as runs🤣

Totally agree, I’m not bothered about speed, I’d rather be a snail and go far 🐌

Thank you Oldfloss I am sticking to plan and finding that slow is best. So far no major issues with the old bones!

Well done 👏and you're definitely a runner. It's a great feeling isn't it. Remember slow and steady over the next few weeks, it's easy to get carried away and then week 6 can be a bit tricky, it definitely caught me out. I had a mini celebration after week 5 run 3, hope you're doing the same. 😊👏🏃‍♀️

That is sooo funny because I can’t stop telling my friends and family not only about my achievement but how brilliant this programme is. I have no option but to complete as I get asked how I am progressing 🤣🤣

Ooh, extra accountability, excellent! I bored everyone I knew to tears - friends, family, other parents at the school bus stop, even the postman 😂

I am glad I am good company, I am sure people want me to finish so they don’t have to suffer a running commentary on my progress🤣
