After almost a week of family commitments involving far too much food and no time for running (did have some lovely long walks so it wasn't all idleness) I finally managed to get out on my first consolidation run. I decided to do it unsupported, just me and the timer on my watch. It went really well although I have to confess I messed up timer and ran for 35 minutes (whoops, breaking the rules 🤫 sorry) I didn't miss the app at all so I think I'll stick to the timer from now on. I just need to learn how to use it😊
Yay 🎉🏃♀️ back to running : After almost a... - Couch to 5K
Yay 🎉🏃♀️ back to running
Well done Mouse - I think I’ll just try the timer on my next run and see how it goes.
Just fabulous and having had some time out.... you are raring to go!
Time out is essential and often does us more good than we realise!Your consolidation runs can be 30 minutes... but it is not compulsory... yes, get the 30 minute runs in, we do advise that.
But... running for our joy, with a timer or our own music or running nekkie! Just because we are able to.
Then maybe a pattern emerges, it may be a short, jogette, a 30 minutes yes, and then let the time evolve when you begin to take the lovely longer, see where you get to runs!
They are the ones that, oddly build up stamina and strength and along with that comes speed, ( yes) and distance.
Almost unnoticed and very naturally. This is you running, your runs.... you do it for you and you enjoy!
Well done ! x
I seem to have found a pace that is comfortable for me, slightly slower up the hill, very slightly faster down the hill but yesterday at least it felt like I could have carried on for hours (never thought I'd say that) but I'm conscious that I'm still very new to running and don't want to risk injury so I'll try not to go too wild. 🏃♀️☺️
Good to see you out there, a week really isn't a long time !I ran this morning for the first time in over 5 weeks 😐
Well done MOuse
Well done, that's great! I always worry after an indulgent weekend/week whether it messes everything up but it doesn't seem to. Happy running x
A good run then, nice and peaceful too, glad you enjoyed it
