Hi all :)

I've been off two weeks for my asthma, finished medication last week so feel ready to get back to it :)

I stopped on week 7 run 1, any suggestions where I should start back at, or is running for as long as I can the best bet to work out where I am?

Hope everyone is well and staying safe,

Alice :)

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

Pick up where you left off.

Hi Alice, glad you are feeling better.. I have no medical knowledge but hopefully you will get that from a medic.. I would say just take it very slowly and see how you feel..

I had a ten day break between runs 1 and 2 of week 8 without a problem, but I don’t have asthma.. listen to your own body.. take care and do what feels right for you..😊

Glad to hear you are feeling better! I've been really struggling with my asthma the past few weeks too, especially with my hayfever/sinuses off the scale with the extremely high pollen count. Been running as early in the morning, when I can, and taking extra rest days. I think we all, those that have asthma, know the difference between what is getting out of puff from exerting yourself and what is asthma. So just listen to your body, be kind to yourself, and get back out and pick up exactly where you left off. Let me know how how it goes. Wishing you all the luck! x

Thank you so much, it's nice to hear from someone who gets it 😂 I think I'm going to switch to early morning running too, previously I've run at night to avoid people because of the pandemic but also because at the start I was not confident about running or my body 😅 but now I feel better about both, running in the light doesn't seem so abhorable to me 😂 how far along are you in the programme now? Wish you all the best too!

We can do it! Especially if we are kind to ourselves. If you go early enough there are fairly few people around really. Depends where you run. I run around the houses, literally, down one street, up another. So see the odd person out on the sidewalk but there is only a short portion of my runs which goes by the corner shop, where my local shopkeeper has also just taken up C25K too based on me doing it! Anyway, I digress. Honestly, nobody is looking, or paying attention to you, other than trying to stay away from you! Like probably everyone else on this forum, I was nervous when I started out about what I look like, but feel so much better about myself now and proudly march out there knowing how much stronger I am. I must admit I had a cheeky look in a few car windows the other day on my run, and I swear I looked like I knew what I was doing!

I'm on W7R3 (today hopefully, waiting on a courier...). Never, ever would have imagined getting this far, let alone now have three 25 minute runs under my belt!

Not what you're looking for?
