Samarathon 2022 starts tomorrow!

So buoyed up by this amazing feeling of well-being which running gives me, as I puff my way through Couch 2 5K, I did a crazy thing and signed up to Samarathon 2022. I thought it would keep me going once I get to the end of the nine weeks and be a fab thing for charity.

Well tomorrow is July and I will have a month to run a marathon. At the moment I run around 2 miles (on Week 7) so I reckon if I run three times a week I might just manage it!

Plus people on Facebook have sponsored me so I have to do it. I even have a T shirt! Facebook aren’t taking a cut of donations so that’s great and the Samaritans will get all the dosh.

Hopefully with the support of the communities I have found here and in the C25K Facebook group, I will smash this challenge, which is the most unlike me thing I have done for quite a while. My sister wants to know where her sister has gone!

It's definitely achievable. Two miles, three times a week for four weeks is 24 miles. Add another run to that and you'll reach 26.2 miles.

And if you're doing exactly 2 miles in a 25 minute run (Week 7), you'll increase that to 2.4 miles by running for 30 minutes.

Woop woop, go you!

What a great incentive to run regularly for the next few weeks. You'll graduate AND run a marathon, that's awesome!! You've got this 👏🏃‍♀️
