Week 5 starts tomorrow...

Looking forward to starting week 5 tomorrow. It looks a little challenging, but I think I've now convinced myself I've got enough stamina for even run 3.

After many suggestions both here and from friends already involved, I signed up for Parkrun on Sunday. I'm not intending actually running it until April or May at the earliest, but I live just around the corner from our local meet and if I use the Parkrun route to practice on I can record my times as "Freedom" runs.

Excellent post. Thank-you.

>> It looks a little challenging

I'll rephrase that to "It looks an exciting challenge..." then.

Lovely to have Parkrun as a goal, too - good luck!👍🙂

Well to be honest, Parkrun was the original goal, and C25K is a stepping stone to it. I got the go ahead and encouragement to aim for doing the Parkrun from my cardiac consultant last October and have been working on it ever since.

I wasn't planning to sign up for Parkrun until April or May, but I had a whole lot people tell me that it was worth signing up early, and going along to get to know people, see how it all works, and perhaps volunteer. Over the weekend I had three people independently tell me this, so I gave in and signed up.

You can do week 5, keep it nice and steady. Have faith in yourself. Running is a head game, having belief in yourself makes a huge difference.

Good for you signing up for a park run. Hope you have fun, listen to your body and allow yourself to walk when you need it.
